County Team v Essex.: Date. 31 July: Venue: Rochford Hundred.
The County team for this league match was Tommy King, Justin Phelps, Dean Fallon, Daniel Jeffries, Max McGrail, Sufian Dhaduk, Mitchell Hollis and Louis Dunn-Allen. Firstly many thanks to the players for giving up their Saturday to travel down for a practice round which proved invaluable as the fairways were running hard and fast and some greens difficult to hold even with their skills.

AM Foursomes: Justin/Dean led out and won 1up with Dean holing a 4 footer on the 18th to clinch their game. Tommy/Dan always led and won 3/2. Mitch/Max proved a great pairing and won 4/2. Sufian/Louis were 2 down with 3 to go but Louis holed a 20 footer on the 16th, an 8 footer on the 17th and Sufian carefully lagged up on 18 to be all square - a lead of 3 ½ - ½
PM Singles: after 12 holes Essex were looking good in many matches but match play always conjures up dramas. Tommy played a delightful chip on 18 to hold his 1 hole lead: Max lost: Justin fought back from 2 down and ended a/s: Dean saw his opponent hole a 30 footer on 17 but also finished a/s: Dan was beaten 2/1 as was Louis: Mitch played faultlessly and won 5/3: Sufian was 2 down but finished birdie - par to be a/s. Result: Win 7-5.
